Further details of the West Northants Joint Core Strategy can be downloaded here.  The Core Strategy sets out the long-term vision and objectives for the whole of the area covered by the former Daventry District, Northampton Borough and South Northamptonshire Councils for the plan period up to 2029, including strategic policies for steering and shaping development. 

Consultation on New Local Plan

A new local plan is currently being prepared for up to 2041. The West Northamptonshire Local Plan will replace the West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy Local Plan (Part 1) and the Part 2 Local Plans which were adopted for the former Daventry, Northampton and South Northamptonshire areas. 

Following a consultation on spatial options for the Plan in the Autumn of 2021, Council, at its meeting on 21 March 2024, approved the consultation on a Regulation 18 draft of the West Northamptonshire Local Plan.

That consultation will commence on 8 April and run for a period of 8 weeks until 2 June 2024.
