Council Statement

At the BPC meeting on Wednesday 7 July councillors discussed concerns about foliage overhanging pavements and paths.

Recent weather has led to significant growth of grass, plants and shrubs causing an increase in the amount of foliage now overhanging pavements and pathways in Upper and Lower Boddington. This can cause a health and safety hazard due to foliage/branches at head/eye-level, rendering areas of the pavement unusable and requiring pedestrians to divert onto the roadway.

BPC kindly asks residents of properties which run alongside pavements and pathways in the Parish to please ensure any overhanging foliage is cut back.

If any parishioner has difficulties doing this then please get in touch with the council via the Clerk (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and we will do what we can to assist.

The council is also aware of weeds growing through the pavement on Warwick Road which is the responsibility of Highways and has been entered on Street Doctor.  The PC are raising this and the topic of Highways grass cutting with our local councillor Alison Eastwood to escalate these issues with the Highways department for action.
