Meeting Dates

The Parish Council normally meets on the first Wednesday of each month in the Village Hall. Residents are encouraged to attend.

Agendas and minutes are posted on the notice boards (on the brick garden wall of Well House, LB, and on the wall of the builder's shop in Church Road, UB) at least three days before each meeting.

The Parish Council has powers concerning street lighting, rights of way and open spaces. It also makes recommendations on planning matters.

Complaints or comments on parish matters should be made in writing to the Parish Clerk.

Announcements

Street light failure: please will Parishioners contact a Councillor with pole number if possible; do not use Street Doctor.

General Announcement - the death of Mrs Calvert Harrison (formerly of Hardwick Rd UB) on January 7th after a long illness.

Reservoir - if you are concerned about the amount of litter, dog faeces and the lack of suitable disposal facilities for dog waste, please join Boddington W I's campaign to clean up the reservoir by writing a short note to Mr. John Ellis of British Waterways, Ground Floor, Witan Gate House, 500 - 600 Witan Gate, Central Milton Keynes. MK9 1BW. Telephone 01908 302500 or direct 01908 312555 or e-mail john.ellis@britishwaterways.co.uk

The Parish Council would like to request that parishioners do not walk their dogs on the Charles Cowper Playing Field.

Each day dogs produce vast amounts of excrement. Much of this is left on footpaths and playing fields and at best can cover shoes and clothes and at worst can lead to blindness due to an infection called 'Toxocariosis'.

The Council has adopted the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996 which enables us to designate land where the 'poop-scoop' law applies. The designated land includes roads, footpaths, school playing fields, sports fields and parks.

It is an offence for a dog owner not to clean up after their dog in these areas. Failure to comply can result in a prosecution and fine up to £1000. It is no defence to claim ignorance of the dog's actions. Often a fixed penalty notice is issued as an alternative to criminal proceedings. The penalty is set by Government and is currently £50. The designations will gradually be replaced by dog control orders made under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005. The default penalty under the new orders is £75, but the Council can vary that amount between £50 and £80.

Dog control orders (including those that ban dogs from specified areas) will be published in the local press for consultation.
