Boddington Parish Council will shortly be developing a Parish Plan for the Boddingtons.
Once completed, the Parish Plan will reflect the views of parishioners in both Upper and Lower Boddington and will provide the local vision based on how residents would like to see our area change, and protected, in coming years. It will help us as a Parish Council to prioritise the issues that matter most to you and, where possible, find the ways to achieve what residents want for our parish, with further consultation if necessary.
The Parish Council is aware of different discussions being held among residents and community groups relating to possible use of village assets and amenities, and the uncertainty this is causing within the parish. A Parish Plan for the Boddingtons, prioritising the aims and aspirations for the parish, and which is defined by the community through consultation with every resident, will provide the parish with a clear mandate for the way forward, helping with local decision making and use of Parish Council funds.
To assure Boddington communities of the objectivity of our Parish Plan, the process of developing this Plan, including all consultation, is to be managed independently. To assist us in this process, we have engaged the support of independent consultant Sue Jobbins of Shaping Communities Ltd who specialises in community planning consultation. For more information see HTTP://WWW.SHAPINGCOMMUNITIES.CO.UK
The Parish Plan will cover a number of topics and will seek views from the community on matters such as housing needs and preferred locations, employment and business, recreation and leisure, and protecting important green spaces. The parish Plan can indeed cover any issues that residents raise as part of consultation over coming months and builds on the comments captured at the AGM held in April 2016.
What is needed in Boddington to help the parish become a better place to live, work and play?
The Parish Plan will be launched in October through two public consultation events, one to be held in both Upper and Lower Boddington. This was followed by a Questionnaire that was sent to all parishioners over the age of 18.
The summary report of the results of the Questionniare, produced by Sue Jobbins of Shaping Communities has now been published and is available to download.
The detailed report is now available and should be read in conjunction with the summary report.
